The iPad is a tablet computer that was developed and designed by Apple. The Apple iPad is truly a magnificent piece of technology. It manages to combine the features of a laptop, gaming console, smartphone, and iPod into a single device.
There are a few complaints that most have with the device though. The iPad does not feature an integrated webcam so video chat is not available. Also, the iPad does not feature a flash player so many Web pages look less than adequate. The biggest problem with the device is having to come up with a justifiable reason to purchase one.
Apple states that the iPad has many useful purposes. It could be an internet browser for the living room, a video player for the children, a picture album and much more. Whatever your reason, the iPad is a worthwhile addition to any wired home. While iPad may not be the future of personal computing, it is certainly one of, if not the most entertaining gadget that will be seen in 2010.
The Apple iPod was a very well-designed device. The screen has the same glass that is featured on the Apple iPhone 3GS, so fingerprints are fairly easy to simply wipe away. The phones massive 9.7 inch display also features an LED backlight. The iPad runs on the same software as the iPhone and iPod Touch. Apple’s iPhone OS software is usually regarded as the most successful software for touch screen devices. Unlike Apple’s OS software that is used on their computers, the iPhone OS software only responds to touch.
The iPad will feel very familiar to those that have ever used an iPod Touch or iPhone. Right out of the box you get Apple’s standard applications for Web, e-mail, video, music, and photos. More applications can be installed through the App Store.
The iPad is offered in 3G or Wi-Fi. There is a difference in the price of both of these models. The 3G iPad will need to be purchased with a data plan.
Overall the Apple iPad is a great portable device to own but will not quite replace the laptop computer.
